Travel essentials

Traveling is one of the most enriching experiences. But traveling is not enough. Traveling with the essentials / must-haves is the key to feeling good during the travel (irrespective of the terrain, the weather, the facilities etc)!

After a recent work trip to Kolkata, I figured there are some basic things which I should not afford to miss in my travel bag.

Here's a personal travel essentials list:
1. Shower Gel
1. Loofah
1. Facewash
1. Toothbrush
1. Tube of toothpaste (small)
1. Perfume [Purse friendly bottle]
1. Lotion
1. Lip butter
1. Kohl stick
1. Socks [for the pretty feet to remain so!]
1. Shampoo sachet [of the preferred brand. Hotel shampoos are bad.]
1. Conditioner sachet [absolutely essential for those perfect locks]
1. Hair oil sachet [must have for protection against unavoidable hard water]
1. Comb
1. Washing powder sachet [yes, it is essential. Especially for extremely fussy people like myself, who will not use a dirty comb!!]
1. Towel [bigger than a hand towel, smaller than a bathing towel. Again for those fussy people who would rather avoid the hotel towels]
1. Sunscreen
1. A pair of big neutral earrings to go with all outfits!

Aaaaaand, with that list, I am all set to go on my next trip this weekend [again a work visit] and feel picture perfect, throughout! Impressions, after all, matter :)

Is it tea time yet?!

Back in 2011, I was placed in a small industrial township of Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a unit of the mining conglomerate Vedanta Resources Plc. Little did I know that life in BALCO township (situate in the town called Korba in the state of Chhattisgarh) would give me an insight like none other. As a fresh graduate lawyer, I was raring to go. It's all about loving your parents..

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham was all about loving your parents, or so Karan Johar wanted us to believe. Though that is a moot point, I am not concerned with it. Irrespective of what it was, K3G is and will remain (I hope for sometime more!) one of my favourite movie. Even though the storyline did not exactly justify the tagline (as per all the people who exert influence on my thought process :D), yet, the tagline did and always does make me think. So does the dialogue by SRK to kid brother Hrithik - "ज़िन्दगी में कुछ बनना हो, कुछ हासिल करना हो, कुछ जीतना हो, तो हमेशा अपने दिल की सुनो, और अगर दिल से भी कोई जवाब ना आये तो अपनी आँखें बंद करके अपने माँ और बाबा का नाम लो, फिर देखना तुम हर मंजिल पा सकोगे, हर मुश्किल आसान हो जाएगी, जीत तुम्हारी होगी, सिर्फ तुम्हारी."
